A reintroduction after 7years
A reintroduction after 7years
Hello everyone,
I joined SR about 7 years ago where I managed 4 months sober. I then decided it would be really a great idea to quit my job and move to another state (in hindsight I realize I was just wanting to get away from all the people that now knew about my alcoholism). Now 7 years later and I found myself being carted to the ER followed up by a 30 day stint in rehab. It's a progressive disease indeed.
Anyway, I have 54 days sober and I'm doing fairly well at the moment. From past tries at getting sober it takes me about 2 months to really have the fog start to lift, the eyes regain their twinkle, and a general sense of peace (with the help from antidepressants ). In the past few days I've noticed a considerable difference from the downer attitude everyone must go through once they quit. It's a great feeling to be coming out it.
I'm really glad to be back and look forward to getting to know everyone. I've been lurking for several days -- all the posts have really been helpful...as they were back 7 years ago. This site is amazing.
All the best,
Methodman

Congrats MM! I found my way here a while back and I wanted to get better but I guess it had to get worse first. Today is day 54 for me as well after 36 days down in FL in treatment. Glad to see you speak of feeling better... Still waitin on that depression or fog to lift. Glad you're here man
