Hi I have just registered here because I just found out my mother is an alcoholic. She went to the hospital for surgery to have a kidney removed (which went well) a couple days later they discovered an infection and had to do a second surgery on her intestine. After that she was in the intensive care unit and that's when she started losing her mind. It was DTs and it was bad. She will be coming home in a few days and I don't live with her but I have a 17 year old sister who does. My sister and I are very close and I want to help as much as I can. I want my mom to be ok.

I should mention I knew she drank but I had no idea how much. She never seemed "drunk" and she lied to the doctor and pretty much everyone else.
