Reaching out for help for a recovering spouse! Help
I'm searching for any helpful information, or suggestions to help my spouse deal or cope with recovery. Not sure what to do??? Spouse acts as though he is miserable and withdrawn.

It wasn't until my AH started seeking out support that he started to at least pull himself out of the depths of depression and hopelessness that came with his recovery. Shame and guilt can be nasty hindrances. He started seeing a therapist who specialized in addiction. My AH preferred the one-on-one setting in his early stages, he also started to attend Life Ring meetings instead of AA, and he is on this forum. He also met with our primary doctor to help manage his recovery as well. He has tried to detox on his own before without meds and it never ended well.
