I'm having a go...

I'll keep it brief as I now in bed. Having been drinking one bottle of vodka a day for the last few week and woke this morning feeling like death. So, I'm going to have a crack a sobriety. I've dropped a bunch of vitamins, have a few litres of water beside the bed. Taken a couple of sleeping pills to knock me out enough to to the morning. Drank a load of nutritious chicken stock and now I guess the pain will set in!

Any advice?

to SR! It sounds like you've got a good plan. Just accept that the first few days are going to be rough but once you get over them you'll start feeling much better. Be sure to get medical help if you get to feeling really bad during withdrawal.

Hi IB, welcome to SR. I hope you withdraw safely and with no dangerous side-effects.Please Google alcohol withdrawal and educate yourself about what can go wrong. Have you put in place a plan for when you've dried out? How to avoid the situations and people that caused you to drink before?
Do you have a support network in place, be it AA or your GP or sober friends. SR is my support network.

Welcome or the SR family, your support at the moment IB. Suggest contacting your Dr. for advice on detoxing. Are you alone? Can you have someone check up on you, make sure the detox is going ok? Wishing you well, stay with us, read, post. Will be thinking of you! TF
You mentioned pain? Are you in pain, physically? Just caring about ya!
