A's and Boat Owners
Musing about Caretaking an A, and Owning a boat.
They may have some similarities . . . .
Just saying.
Some classic Boat Owner Proverbs:
"The two happiest days in a boat owner's life are the day he buys a boat, and the day he sells it."
"Boats are holes in the water in which a boat owner throws money."
They may have some similarities . . . .
Just saying.

find a friend that has one
just sold our sailboat a while back
ran all over southern Calif looking at nice used sailboats
obsessed with it almost like when I drank
found the clean boat of my dreams
then I got tired of pouring money into it
cleaning it even when it hadn't been out in a while
couldn't find a good solid crew
most do not wish to help out much
yes - it was a good day when I sold the boat
I have the best deal now
my neighbor up the road has the exact boat we had - 22' Catalina
I get to go out with him often
and never have to go with him to the boat supply store (much savings)
Mountainman
hammer--OMG. It takes more attention than a new puppy. I have often wondered about how one rationalizes the effort:pleasure ratio.
As far as I can see, if one aspires to own a boat, they need to have enough money to hire staff.
Best bet might be to have a good friend who owns a boat. Just like it is good to have a best friend who own a truck.
(now, I am telling on myself!)

So if I am correctly mis-applying these observations, I think I am being told that I would be better off with a friend / neighbor / buddy, etc. who just shared his wife . . . er, ah, I mean boat.

When I first read the headline. I thought it was going to be about Boating Under The Influence. I have a neighbor who lost his regular license because of several boating incidents. It's just as dangerous as driving on the road.
