My husband said it him or the booze

so, I'm off to an AA meeting in 1/2 hour. He wants me to go into rehab but I just can't wrap my head around that right now. I want to do this right this time, I want him to be able to trust me, I want to be sober.

Good luck to you. Go to those meetings as often as you can, and post on here for encouragement!

You can do this. Keep going to meetings and soak up the information they have to offer. Have faith in yourself that you can do this.

[my emphasis]

Those are the key hurdles to get over (to want it). You're on your way just keep going in that direction.

Well, I consider it encouraging news that you chose him, assuming he is a good husband. You don't have to wrap your head around rehab, you just go. While there, they will teach you how to wrap your head around it properly.

I'm glad you are working on your recovery. Have faith that you can do this and that your husband will begin to trust you again.

Go to a meeting everyday and do not drink inbetween meetings. Simple plan that works

If you have the time and money for rehab, why not take that opportunity?

I have never done it – but if I had a month to spare, I would.

Your husbands trust will come in time, just focus on staying sober.

I was waiting for that, soberhawk, thank you. I did a 28 day rehab long ago and was very thankful to be able to. If you participate in it willingly and honestly, my conclusion is that it is quite the booster that many need\can help to get their first 30 days.

Yeah, my sobriety date doesn't reflect long ago, I did relapse, but that had zip to do with rehab. Rehab gave me the boost I needed to spend 8 years sober. I'm not sure I'd be here typing this now without having done it.

Thank you all for your responses. I went to a meeting and truly soaked it all in. I'll be going to 2 tomorrow while waiting to hear from my insurance about rehab.
