Six weeks today!
Six weeks today!
Mini milestone here.
I have to say to those of you who are struggling to get some traction going that some patience and simply sitting it out and allowing yourself to recover from the crap you have been swallowing for however long actually and really pays off! This last week in particular has started to give me glimpses of a happy, alert, clear eyed, open, far less anxious and dare I say it contented appreciation of life.
It is still early days but the benefits really don't take all that long to turn up!
Hang in there guys! If I can, anyone can!

A truer word was never said. And yet such is the nasty power of the stuff that it has the power to convince us that life will be horrible and not worth living without it.
It simply and absolutely is not the case!

Mention, I enjoyed reading your original post and seeing you write of "contented appreciation of life". We both stopped drinking the same day and it has been nice to see you articulating what we both are experiencing as we get our lives back from alcohol.
I hope all is well with you too!
