Anyone else starting over?

Hello All,

I spent some time reading on here this morning, and I am so proud of some of my Octsobermates from last year, who are reaching that one year milestone!!

I also read a few posts that have inspired me to start again. I know some of you are going to ask "What are you going to do different?", and honestly, I am not quite sure yet. Today I am going to watch my kids play soccer, exercise, and spend some time reflecting.

Monday, I have an appointment with my psych who I only see once a year, and the timing seems perfect.

So for today I am not going to drink.

I would love to find someone starting over, or starting out to check in with.

Thanks to all on SR who have been there through my successes, and failures. You are loved more than you know.

Here is to a fresh start, or I could be corny and say "I am turning over a new leaf." Since it is fall.

Congrats on making a fresh start. I'm still pretty new to this sobriety thing (34 days) but so far I'm loving it. Yesterday was a very hard day for me and I was almost back to day 1 today. This community has really REALLY helped me a lot in staying sober. Glad you are back and making a new plan to stay sober

Delilah, it's really good to see you back here with renewed hope. You are one of those people whose progress I have followed with interest and have been willing you on.

I'm not starting again today, but I did relapse after my first few months on SR so I know the frustrations and agony of the day 1 when it needs to be repeated.

I'm happy to share my experience with you. Let me know if there's anything I can do.

I've got a good feeling about you.

Pleased you're here

Delilah - I'm starting over as well. For the first time in my life and career I turned down a drink from my boss ("this job requires you drink"). So I'm learning to say no, which I never could before. I may get fired for being sober!

Hi, Delilah!

Great you are back.

I am not starting over, rather proceeding. But I would be happy to offer support and encouragement.

Keep your chin up, Octsobermates!

October is a magic month - sending positive vibrations your way)

I am not starting over today. But I lost count of how many day ones I have had over the years.

We all only have today. I will be willing to support you and be a check in for you if you would like.

Congrats on coming back

Thank you all, soccer is done, now at Target looking at Halloween costumes with the kids. I started a book called Crazy Sexy Diet, I may as well jump in with healthy eating as well!

Hi Delilah - welcome back

I know some of you are going to ask "What are you going to do different?", and honestly, I am not quite sure yet.
Thats a really important question Delilah - I hope you can work on some answers

I know Dee, today I am doing some reflecting. I know that when I stopped journaling and reading on here I started drinking again. I am going to start there and look into some other supports. There are SMART meetings I am going to try to attend, AA wasn't the right fit for me. I also have an appointment on Monday with my psych, and will talk to him as well. Right now I am enjoying my back patio!!
