9 Months and Going Strong!
9 Months and Going Strong!
Haven't chatted with all of you in awhile, but I pop in now and then just to see how everyone is doing and to check out the new peeps. Life has been keeping me busy (divorce, job hunting, trying to sell the house, my son's health problems, etc.), but it's all good. I'm 9 months sober today! That is a record for me and in all honesty, it surprises the hell out of me considering how hectic my life has been and all the changes that have taken place this year. It's all good change, however, and even though some of it has been rough, getting through it all sober has been a true blessing.
I hope to be here more often so I can keep up with what is happening with all of you good people. Looking forward to catching up with old friends and meeting new ones too!
Just wanted to say "hi" and wish you all a happy, sober weekend!

Hey, good for you, desertsong! 9 months is awesome! That's how long it takes to grow a baby, lol! So does it feel like a new life to you?
I think it's great that you've stayed sober through all those big changes. I've had some of those major things happen, and sadly, I thought drinking would numb the pain......uh, it didn't! So I've gone over 6 months now without turning to alcohol to "cope", and strangely enough, things don't seem as horrible as I thought they'd be. Huh, go figure!
Maybe we're onto something here?!
Anyways, just wanted to say congrats on the 9 months! Hope to see ya around on the forums Sending peace and good vibes for you and also your son's health.

P.S. wiscsober, I wasn't copying you, lol, but we had the same idea......you just got there first!

DS & Texas - Big Congrats! I'm coming up on 2 months this Sunday (I think). So good to be able to say that. Still some rough times, PAWS and trying to repair the ruin, but it didn't take me a day to get here and it will take more than a day to climb out, but at least I am (and all of you are) fighting the good fight!
