i think its time for me to seek help
Hi everyone. I am 21 years old and I am in seek for some help in recovery. I have a bad alcohol, narcotic, and food addiction that is destroying my body everyday. I realized that my thought process is slowing down, I notice that I studder more often. I just dont know what to do. I always tell myself to not drink or snowboard or eat but end up doing it anyways no matter what my mind tells me. What should I do? Where should I start. this is a complete secret from my family and girlfriend. I feel like a complete failure for not having the mental toughness to begin recovery. If you have any pointers or advice please let me know. thank you for reading

Hi recoveringme
I think support is a good start so you've made a good choice by coming here.
Are you open to the idea of getting some help elsewhere too - Dr, counselling, recovery programme?

to SR! I'm glad you found us and joined the family.
You're smart to want help when you're still so young. I wish I'd sought recovery at a younger age. Can you see your doctor for help in getting clean and sober? There's also AA for alcoholics and NA for narcotics addicts. Or what about counseling? I see a counselor regularly and she is a great help to me.
You've come to a very supportive place.
