Irritable at one month

Hey all. I'm 32 days sober and for the past few days I have been growing ever increasingly irritable. Anyone else experience that around the one month mark? I think it's time for me to go for a nice walk to hopefully calm my nerves.

Yes I experienced the same thing at Day 32. I think it may because you have just hit a milestone and now the milestone of 60 days is kind of a ways off. But I'd keep going if I were you because I really enjoyed 30-60 much more than 0-30. Your doing really good, just try and practice "easy does it" during the periods of anger, and remember, it does pass.

Hi Zelda,
I was incredibly irritable in early sobriety, very touchy. My nerves felt raw. I think it is probably different for everybody.
When my stress levels would built up to what felt like breaking point I would drink to relieve the stress.
I don't get stressed as much any more and if I do I go out for a ride on my bike, walk the dog.

it does get easier.

Emotions can be a little crazy for a while in early recovery but it does get smoother with time. Hang in there!

I've had high anxiety when in the 30 days or sooner range of early recovery.
Taking a good walk wile just focusing on just what your doing. The below link explains more about Grounding as a anxiety/stress treatment.

Congratulations on your 32 days sober!

Maybe you could try something new and different in your life. Could it be that you're missing things you used to do, but not replacing them with things you enjoy? Good for you for choosing to go for a walk!
