Counting sober days

Do you count from the last day you drank or the first day you didn't drink?

I have been wrestling with the math, in my head, on that question, or a similar one, for a while. For instance, I took my last drink(s) on September 1, but technically, I was not sober until September 2. Simple math would say that, since today is the 23rd, 23-2 would equal 21 days sober. But technically, I'm on my 22nd night.

I count sobriety from when I sobered up, not from when I took ly last drink.

This is an argument I have only with myself. All I can control is today, and today chalked up another one in the win column.

At some point, I know that if I can keep up the good work, I won't be thinking "days", but longer periods of time. "Weeks" sounds like a nice next step, and something I couldn't fathom "weeks" ago....

I started counting the first day I did not drink. Keeping track of the days gives me motivation to reach that next milestone.

What's a day either way, really .. but I count complete days. So 24 hours = 1 day down (which was weird at first, because I quit drinking midday on 6/26 -- ran out of booze, didn't buy more)

I'll have 13 weeks sober (3 months / 91 days) on this coming Thursday, kind of a milestone, I suppose. Still working on dieting off the booze weight, but my scale went under 225 lbs for the first time in ten years, that was pretty cool

not to hijack the thread -- carry on, just thinking out loud

Oh great all good guys.
Yeah I drank last on my sons 6 month birthday. Which was the 21st. I would be sober from the 22nd.
But anyway. I went to aa yesterday, I'm on cipramil too, I am stopping drinking. Don't need to drink when I have young kids and on antidepressants! And Breastfeeding. Many reasons...
