♥ The Full Version of the Serenity Prayer ♥

The Serenity Prayer

God Grant Me The Serenity
To Accept The Things I Cannot Change;
Courage To Change The Things I Can;
And Wisdom To Know The Difference.

Living One Day At A Time;
Enjoying One Moment At A Time;
Accepting Hardships As The Pathway To Peace;
Taking, As He Did, This Sinful World As It Is,
Not As I Would Have It;
Trusting That He Will Make All Things Right
If I Surrender To His Will;
That I May Be Reasonably Happy In This Life
And Supremely Happy With Him
Forever In The Next.

Amen.

Thank you, Johnny. I like the full prayer. Full disclosure: I'm a lapsed Catholic, almost converted to Judaism a long time ago, dabble in Buddhism, and am kind of going through an atheist period at the moment... But I can get behind this prayer! I pray daily to a Higher Power that is sometimes the Universe, sometimes Jesus, sometime Buddha,and sometimes a vague fuzzy concept that I am not even sure exists. I've realized that I'm never going to figure it all out, and when my head starts messing with me too much, I just go back to the idea that there is surely a power greater than myself somewhere out there.
Anyway, thanks!

We had been using this full version at a Buddhist-flavored 12 step group I attend. I wasn't aware of the full version until I started going there, either, never heard it before.
