Going shopping pensively
Not really a craving, but I'm just about to go to the supermarket and I'm aware of my AV getting ready to pounce when near the off license aisle.
In one way it's good that I can recognise its voice I suppose, but I'm still quite nervous. In fact I've just noticed my hands are shaking as I type this.
I plan to use some of the mantras I've read about here and look straight ahead.
My wife is coming with me, but she'll be waiting in the car. In the past I was not above buying a bottle and hiding it on my person, telling her that I hadn't bought anything. Not today, because I told her that I might do this and will insist on a body search
Wish me luck!

Do let us know how you did I found in my early sobriety it sucked having to shop where alcohol sold as it truly is everywhere. However, over time I no longer focus on it as I'm much more focused on healthier things now.

If i was you i would go in with a list, get what i needed and get out again fairly quickly. Avoid the alcohol aisle completely. You know this will be a test but its one you can pass. All you have to do is not buy anything to drink. Each time you get through something like this you will feel more confident.
