Thursday check in and Wednesday sober
Hi SR,
One of my tough days yesterday. Seeing and working with friends (drinkers) I have not seen in a long time. Fortunately yesterday was also my mother's birthday. Cue my exit and excuses. My mother has never drank/smoked or anything like that so being in her environment was exactly what I needed.
It seems like I have to be constantly vigilant and that can be somewhat wearing. Next tough spot...Saturday.
Thanks SR x

Nice work on avoiding the temptations Caravagio. Over time they will become less frequent and less intense, but you are 100% correct that we need to be constantly vigilant. Accepting that fact ( that constant vigilance is necssary ) is a big step forward, and sounds like you've made that step too. Have a good thursday and have a plan for Saturday too!

I went to a colleagues leaving drinks tonight. I didn't drink. What I found really interesting is how people act when drinking. Not that I'm surprised by this, but it is quite a sight when you're with colleagues. I got hugged, grabbed and kissed by female colleagues that would never do stuff like that if we were in a different setting. I'm sure they'll regret it when they wake up tmrw morning (if they even remember it!). It's nights like tonight that strengthen my resolve to never drink again.
Hi, I often drank in Liverpool and spent a lot of time visiting , I would love to go and do it sober , although its a high drinking city I bet it doesn't stop being a big heart because your sober .
Keep in there.
John.

Caravagio, It seems like I have to be constantly vigilant and that can be somewhat wearing. Yes, it was that way for me for a long, long time, but I just suffered through it and now I'm 3 years sober. Rootin for ya.
