Welcome back Ethos. Have a happy birthday tomorrow! Feeling terrible all the time and thinking about alcohol all the time is the addiction talking. That voice will calm down once you stop. Try to go easy on yourself and take it one day or hour at a time. It maybe rough at first but you will get there.

As far as recovery goes, I don't think of much. I pass it of a my being too "busy" Honestly, at this point, I just figure that I will live like this until I die. I have a nice Life Insurance policy for my family. I know it sounds bleak, but thats the truth'

That doesn't sound like fighting the beast to me though - sounds more like you're letting it win.

That might be the problem - you need to take action - recovery is not passive.

if nothing changes in your life, how can anything change?
