One Story

I want to share this story with my SR peeps because so much of what I have learned in the past year or so has come from the loving-kindness and honesty I found here every day, every night, every moment I needed a boost. Thank you!

All names have been changed, including mine. The photos are stock, too.

A Mother’s Tale of Tragedy and Hope |

The Phoenix Spirit recovery newspaper is an awesome thing, too--check it out!

Thank you for sharing, it must have been very cathartic writing that all out. I have always appreciated the wisdom and insight you have offered freely to me and others on this site. Thank you again! Make it a great day!

GardenMama, your words speak for so many here and just wrap themselves around my heart.

That cannot have been easy to write, but sharing your story will help others know the sad human-ness of addiction...your daughter, my son, someone's husband, another's sister...they are our loved ones and you are us.

Words cannot express how much this touched my heart. Thank you for sharing your story, for fearlessly exposing the sad truth of how addiction can strike any of us, any time, anywhere.

Hugs from this mama's heart to your.

Thank you for sharing one story. There are so many stories like this....... You eloquently described the fear, disbelief, guilt, anguish, and so many other feelings that are involved when an adult child is an addict.

another gentle hug from another mom

As KE said, that was eloquent and I'll add poignant.

Thank you for sharing your story. I can truly relate with my son and your pain as a mother going through the same. I feel like in some kind of dream trying not to fall. I almost feel like that saying that says something like "only special people/parents have special children." I have a very special child, so I guess I must be very special???
