I have no idea how I am going to explain all of this to my wife, she has no idea how serious my problem is, she knows i like to drink but I usually drink after she goes to bed or out in the garage ect..I try to hide it as much as I can. I'm really nervous about what is going to happen when I tell her I'm quitting and am going to an aa meeting.....i'm worried that she will always hold this over me even If i am successfull and stop drinking.

Good for you Workingfornew!!!! I too am on day one. I too was a sneaky drinker, but I was found out. Now I am working on earning the trust of my family back. All of them are so disappointed in me that I feel like such a loser. I dont like that feeling. I will come back better than ever!!!!! Good luck to us all ,it's the most difficult thing I have ever done.

Welcome Workingfornew. This is a great place to be for support & encouragement. Everyone here understands what you're going through, even when your family can't. I hope being here will help you feel less anxious and more positive. You can have a whole new life.
