My first week

I am a week sober...I want to celebrate, I would love to...but I'm feeling meh.
I even bought a cake thinking I was going to feel all happy and proud of myself...nope, still meh.

Please tell me that week #2 is going to be better

Week two is definitely better. I'm at the end of day 10 now and this week has been so much better than where I was one week ago. Keep at it and do try to have some of that cake. You deserve it!

Week 2 is, hands down, easier than week one. And week 3, where I am, is even better. Stay strong. You are doing great!

Patricia!
Congrats! It gets better and occasionally you will have a bad day. Life, that's all. You will grow to revel in your freedom and the clarity of good and bad feelings. No sober down ever came close to a bad hangover and the cotton headed, bloodshot morning afters when even my hair hurt.

I am rooting for ya!

Ooo, those fireworks were delightful. Freedom comes to mind. :-)

On Chinese New Year fireworks chase away evil spirits....or in this case maybe they can chase away the blasé' spirit of "Meh."

I'm on day 9. I've had too much excitement before that. Enjoy the calm maybe? Week two will be whatever we make it.

Congrats!

Week 7 for me. I've had my share of ups and downs, but I keep moving along, staying strong! You can do it! Sober life is such a treasure!

It does get better. All of this takes time. You may feel up and down for a few weeks. This is normal and to be expected. Emotions level out after awhile. I promise you that it gets better. Keep moving forward Patricia. Eat some cake because there is reason to CELEBRATE!

Week one is certainly the worst! I couldn't do anything... It's most certainly the worst time in recovery...

Good work! Keep it up and stay strong, week 2 is far easier as others have said.

It's OK to feel "meh". I often feel meh. Some wonderful people I know often feel meh. When I was using/drinking I thought that, as a human, it was normal to feel ~great~ anytime I wanted. As a sober human I've realized that there are highs and there are lows and sometimes a bunch of "meh". That's OK though because it's my meh. I earned it and because of that my mehs aren't so meh anymore.

Congratulations on a week. Not a small accomplishment.

Now I'm thinking about cake!
