Ready for a Real Change
Hi, I'm new to this site and wanted to say that I look forward to getting some real help to make a change in my life. I have basically ruined almost everything in my life, but still have a decent job (for how long I don't know since my performance due to some issues with drinking and being around a Fiance that Refuses to stop drinking), some good family that supports me and a few good friends. I've lost jobs in the past due to drinking. I'm truly an alcoholic and I know it. I went through the AA process about 10 years ago and wasn't ready because it was court ordered. I felt that since I didn't need to drink everyday that I didn't have a problem. I can go days, weeks and months without drinking but when I do and get going at it, boy I can really screw some things up very badly! I think I might be running out of chances!

Dear MBG, welcome. I highly recommend the youtube videos "Rain in My Heart". It is a series of 10. The girl on the 2nd one reminds me of myself. She did not drink everyday either. Quitting drinking is for yourself. Not the court. Or anyone else. Very best wishes to you. You will find support and information here.
