First Sober day
Hey, well today is my first sober day and I've had lots of these and I'm only 23. Alcohol has really been destroying my all-around life. I've never had to deal with cops before I was 21 and since 21, I've gotten 2 DUI's, detox multiple times(twice since getting to school), public intoxication, and accidently broke a bunch of things on my neighbors property and almost got charged with felony vandalism. I'm just really sick of all this **** and know I have to quit RIGHT NOW! My 23rd birthday is at the end of this month. I decided to join this site and go back to AA meetings tonight. I'm just glad there are places like this to join to help support me with what I need help with. I'm just glad to still be alive and if you have anything that you think will help me out, I'm all ears.
Going back to meetings sounds like a good plan. And in the time in-between stick around here and read, read, read. I was glued to this place my first week. Only getting the bare essentials done at work. It really helped.
Welcome!
Welcome!
Welcome teajae! I think being here with us will help you tremendously. You're never alone.
I wish I'd had the good sense to quit when I was your age. My life would have turned out completely different. Instead, I kept trying to control it - with disastrous results. Be proud of yourself for being honest and seeing what needed to happen.
