Day 7

Whoop whoop whoop!! Day 7. Feeling GOOD!

Question. I have some weird food cravings. I need pop corn, jello, cool whip, honey roasted peanuts, salt, chocolate, ice cream, candy, pop, cake, brownies, etc.

Does anyone else experience food cravings?

Couldn't be sober without you guys.

thanks

I eat a HUGE bowl of popcorn every night.
Well 2/3 of it as the dog eats at least a 1/3.

Good going Raider! I craved high sugar food. I read somewhere that eating too much sugar when quitting booze can actually make the cravings worse, so I tried to stick to fruit. Seemed to work, though I scoffed some chocolate too a couple of times I have to admit.

It is beginning to subside a bit now at day 15.

Way to go Raider!!! I am experiencing the same cravings as you! Strange combinations of things and sugary snacks. I don't normally have a sweet tooth but right now I sure do! Someone in another thread pointed out it's the body's way of trying to replace the sugar it used to get from the alcohol. Makes sense to me.

Day 63 here, and I am crazy about popcorn and icecream. I will worry about that later down the road. You are doing great. Proud of you.

Congrats on the 7 days!

The food cravings are normal, I had them as well for a couple of days. As long as they're temporary, it's not a problem. I'd give in those cravings. I did and it helped my recovery.

Just make sure your diet returns to normal eventually. Actually, after those cravings are gone, it'd be a great moment to incorporate a healthy diet and make that a lifestyle. The benefits are huge and you'll feel great!

7 days is awesome Raider. Keep up the fantastic work! Food cravings..well I have to admit on my trigger days I consume a crazy amount of sugar and I don't mean the good sugar either. I can't seem to moderate it on the weekends, but I can on the weekdays. It coincides with my previous drinking pattern. I just hope that this is just temporary and it doesn't become a habit (I hate to replace one bad habit for another). But, it beats the crap out of being hung over and feeling like sh!t. I will take sugar over alcohol any day of the week. Got cake?

Every day after work I drive 7 miles out of my way for a chocolate milkshake on my way home. The Foster Freeze lady is starting to look at me like the Liquor Store guy used to - the "she's got a problem" look.

I'm putting this way down on the list of things I need to worry about right now. Although it might be time to change out ice cream shops to avoid detection. I just know I feel amazingly better after ice cream.

Doing the ice cream dance...==>
