greetings from Lurkerville
Hello Y'all - Here I am, a middle aged lady with a tendency to guzzle beer like a hedonistic spring breakin' college kid once or twice a week. It's downright unseemly!
Had an unrelated medical scare 9 years ago which led me to quit drinking completely for a year and a half due to a course of medication I had to do. Once said scare was behind me, I resumed my recreational discombobulating and..... well, you know...
Anyway, while at the moment I'm not ready to make any "forever" declarations I do want to stop again for at least a while and am finding it hard to get started. So I need support.
I've done a lot of lurkerish reading on this here forum over the past few weeks and it's been super inspiring. So, thanks for being here. You seem like an awesome community.

Pleased to meet you Jester.
I was doing the same thing - and it was costing me big time. Was up to a 30 pack a day (talk about unseemly) and I wasn't even enjoying it. That numb, foggy feeling meant I wasn't even participating in life. It had to go. Glad to have you join us! I think it will really help you.
