sober crisis
i got a phone call at 2:30 am the other day--i am on day 23 today so new to this--.a family member and problems to deal with. In the past, I would have been sressed out and sat down and had some drinks before going back to bed. I had a glass of soda and thought without alcohol. The next day my husband and I talked calmly how to deal with this situation. I could tell he was proud of me.
It's a challenge dealing with life sober when your not used to it - I didn't realise until I stopped just how much I relied on alcohol to deal with/EFFFFF things up even more for me lol cos that's usually what I did. If I had a problem id get drunk then address it. It always ended up a mess.
So well done on dealing with it head on - I'm sure in some ways it was harder and in a lot of ways also easier but the main thing is that you had a level head and you can probably sit comfortably in your own skin with the way you dealt with it. Good on ya and your husband should be proud so should you. Pat on the back.
