Uncomfortable with Alanon Sponsee

Uncomfortable traveling 2 1/2 hours up north with Alanon sponsee.

Travel back home no problem I will be by myself returning car.

He hasn't been to an AA or Alanon meeting for several months now.
Acting needy.

It's business and has to be done before the weekend.

I really hate Northern Wisconsin and I think that has more on my mind.

Hmmmm....can you bring some speaker tapes of books on tape for the car ride? Assign your sponsee some reading for the car ride?

I realize if you are uncomfortable with someone, then 2 hours in a car together can seem like a really long time.

Wiscober---really needy people, in concentrated form, can really seem to suck the very marrow out of your bones!!!!

This is a real problem for therapists who see patients in their offices hour after hour--without much interactions with others between sessions. After a while, they feel like they are going bonkers.

Thanks

Didn't think of cds/dvds but thought of a crossword magazine and the local newspaper....honestly....not up to hearing about how bad his wife and kids are.

To take some control of the situation I said he will buy me breakfast, lunch, and some food heading back. I know that sounds silly but it seems like by "demanding" that I have more control of the situation.

If I pry his brain open and get him talking it is quite interesting....but it does suck also...because of all the drama.

There's a bit of money to be made and I need money for moving so I'm going to do it....
