Craving really bad

Im in day 4 for about the millionth time. Im physically craving so bad. I really want to go to the store for minature vodkasb(my husband cant know) I am ao tired of lying and hiding but my gosh this is so hard. No school or work tomorrow make it even harder!

I'm sorry you are in agony like this but I'm glad you came to SR. I'm only on day 6 but day 4 was also the worst for me. I made it through by just saying, ok, I'm not doing anything for the next 60 minutes.

Can you reach out to your husband and tell him how you're feeling?

Have you tried urge surfing JM? that really helped me.

Focusing on HALT is good too - are Hungry Angry Lonely or Tired - sometimes we can interpret all kinds of cravings as booze cravings....dealing with those kinds of things can help.

Something sweet can often help too

Remember to play the tape through too - it's easy to romanticise the idea of 'a drink'...but it won;t be 'a drink' it'd be several...

think about how tomorrow might turn out if you drink.

You will not regret waking up sober

What ever support you have nows the time to use it - reach out - if you haven't got much support, maybe it's time to think about getting some more?

you can do this - it may not be the most pleasant evening ever, but you can go to bed sober

I hate the first week. It gets markedly better after day 4. And day 5, and 6. I swear. There's a few sleepless nights maybe and emotions coming from nowhere at first, and that's exactly what everyone goes through. It's par for the course but people get through it. You can get through it

Thank you so much everyone. I love this site. It is midnight and im drinking sleepy time tea. I took a hot bath and I listened to some of my audio book "Sober Mercies". Day 5 tomorrow..and I will wake up guilt free. I talked to my husband about my craving and just "outing" myself by saying that made me feel better.
