Really need to get out this bed today

It's not the fact that I can't get up or even that I feel ill I'm just like 'what's the point' it's like when I used to wake with a hangover I'd be full of nervous energy and I'd never sit down cleaning cooking washing etc all day... Now I'm sober and on pretty high doses of anxiety meds I've about zero anxiety or even minus lol I just don't give a toss!

When i got sober i cut myself some slack , we don't have to be perfect house keepers or perfect anythings .

Just keep on with working on your sobriety , sometimes learning how to rest and be lazy without picking up a drink or feeling guilty about it is what we need to do ..

Bestwishes, m

If i wasn't a half a world away I'd come jump on your bed till you had to get out of it out of annoyance! I can be quite persuasive when I'm annoying! I do hope you can get out of bed today, maybe if It's just for something easy, like seeing a movie?

Emily, be kind to yourself, and congrats on your 13 days sober.

It might help if you made a 'to do' list and make an effort to clear off 1 or 2 things each day. That might help you feel that you are moving forward and accomplishing things.

Hi Emily...congrats on day 6.

Try not to be too hard on yourself....and listening to your body if you are tired is important. Your body can only heal itself when it's asleep, so try not to feel guilty!

I'm at day 36 and for some reason needed 2 naps today, but I took them and felt a lot better for them!

Here are some of the benefits of sleep, if you need an excuse!

SLEEP - THE SILENT HEALER

Being in bed with a "whats the point" attitude. Yeah it is nice to be up and about, but on other side of coin your body is doing what it needs to recover. People deal with stopping alcholol in a variety of ways.

Dear 13, you will get used to the change in energy. You will get more energy as you feel better. I had to make myself go for a walk early on. You might feel better once you get going. Your body will adjust to the changes. Good job. Keep going dear.

I didn't know about the high doses of anxiety meds. Have you considered the possibility that they are actually working now that you are sober?
