3 day weekend....whatcha doing?
I thought we could start a thread of things we have planned for the holiday weekend instead of drinking. lets encourage ourselves and others with positive goals.
Tomorrow morning I'm quitting smoking (again) cold turkey. I'll be reading "the easy way to stop smoking" all weekend and keeping busy. looking forward to it!!
Planning on doing a lot of hiking and spending time with nature.

I find eating yummy food and watching DVD's good (but not so good for my waistline)
I have also found the money i saved from not drinking means i can go a bit mad on-line once a month , i buy books i fancy and make myself purchase/download an album i haven't heared before .

Going to an anniversary meeting on Saturday to celebrate my second year back following a three-year relapse. My new sobriety date is 08/20/2011.
I'll know many people who are there, including the guy I asked to speak for me, who's also celebrating four years. It's virtually impossible for me to put into words all the great things I've gotten from working on my sobriety.
Sunday I'll spend some time at an isolated beach with a friend and take in all the peacefulness. Walking in the sand will help with my recovery from hip replacement surgery.
Monday is baseball day and watching videos. And some reading.
It's always the little things in life.
