Day 18 - the beast sleeps, for now...
Yesterday passed without all that much bellowing from the beast in his forsaken dungeon. Thoughts about drinking, not drinking, came and went like thoughts about eating, not eating, calling my mom, not calling my mom, returning a work call, not returning a work call, etc, et al, ad infinitum. I just felt like a guy who doesn’t f**ing drink.
So the beast slept. He may have tossed and turned a couple times, but he barely walked the length of his cage. He’s resting, waiting. I’m not foolish enough to think he’s changed his mind about a damn thing. Or that he’s going to give me a nice, deserved break. He’s there and he’s not going away any time soon. I’ll be listening for him though. And I’ll be ready when he wakes.

This beast has so much patience, it seems to evaporate at times, But I must remember the words cunning, powerful and insidious just waiting for us to be off balance for a moment then, where did that come from? AT meetings I'm scared at how many lately are forgetting to be prepared. One day at a time just don't drink. BE WELL
