Welcome, Day 2 here. Are you really having very rapid heartbeat or are you just anxious?

Keep it up, I think you will be fine. Expect some withdrawal symptomes to come. These will include mild ones like jitteriness, anxiety, sleep disturbance, sweating, diarrhea, headache etc. to more severe symptoms such as confusion, delirium, hallucination, tremors and some case of seizures.

If you have any medical concerns, try asking doctors on Healthtap. You can consult with doctors there for free and they'll get back to you with an answer usually in a few hours. I found some info there on alcohol withdrawal (link): bit.ly/18lF4ob

Hope this helps! Good luck.

Try to keep everything as simple and as uncomplicated as possible. If you find yourself in a situation that is causing you stress or concern, and it is possible for you to remove yourself physically or mentally, do so with speed. Un-clutter your life as much as possible and don't take on any more than you can handle. If all you can handle is just sitting of lying on the sofa/bed then that's fine. Don't feel that you 'should' be doing more. You have a life threatening illness/malady and you should treat yourself as if you are recovering from cancer.

Welcome.

What about a quick med place, a doc in the box? Usually lots cheaper than ER... Have you quit before?

Personally, I would not take any meds I had lying around.

There are a lot of free or low cost clinics around - if there's one in your local area you might get some medical advice there?

Good luck, Mimi. They may assign you a case manager who should help you find a rehab if you need one. I've done the ER thing too. They'll take good care of you. Good on you for going!
