Day 2
Day 2
No sleep, dry heaves. Not interested in eating. I'm off to get my coffee with cream and sugar at least. Must work today, fortunately from home. I choose not to drink today.

FG66, Let me try and encourage you. I'm on day 3 and it feels much better. I was a bit foggy this a.m. but am at work and feeling pretty good. I had gone on a weekend bender and just now feel like I'm recovering. Hang in there, don't give in to the plans that the alcohol has to utterly destroy you. That's it's motive for people like us. Destruction pure and simple. Be strong and courageous, there are many people here to talk to and encourage you.
Hi foolsgold. I remember those horrible times. We just can't put ourselves through it anymore. Glad you've realized that - and congrats on your Day 2! We know how hard it is - but every day it'll be a little better.
Thanks everybody. Yes, I've done this before, too many times. This needs to be the last, before I start losing everything I care about. I'm trying not to be a crankyass to my work people, and be as productive as I can.
You guys are very supportive. I wish I'd come here sooner. Had a decent day, managed to be nice and fairly productive. Even had a very small bite of lunch.
No cravings, some of the sick is wearing off just going to do a couple of things around the house and shave a week of scraggle off my face.

Thanks, I do feel stronger than before. I've always enjoyed forums and I was thrilled to find you all here.
I stole one of my favorite quotes about getting sober for you, here it is.
This guy's walking down the street when he falls in a hole. The walls are so steep he can't get out. A doctor passes by, and the guy shouts up, "Hey, you, can you help me out?" The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in the hole and moves on. Then a priest comes along, and the guy shouts up, "Father, I'm down in this hole. Can you help me out?" The priest writes a prayer, throws it down in the hole and moves on. Then a friend walks by. "Hey, Joe, it's me. Can you help me Out" And the friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, "Are you nuts? Now we're both down here." The friend says, "Yeah, but I've been down here before - and I know the way out."

Crap. End of day 2 is almost here. I'm hearing things, music, repetitive sounds. This always happens, I always forget. Trying to think of something new to try for sleep. Fans make it worse. Not looking forward to another sleepless night.

The 2nd night I was able to sleep some. I did read and journal a bit last night. I think it helped. I was concerned waking up at 2:30&3:30 that it was gonna be another sleepless night. I did ok. Hope you will. Having more trouble tonight actually. Hanging in there though
