Staying myself and being sober

ok--day 8 and doing pretty good. problem is that I am mature--nice word for oldere rarely had too much to drink with friends--even if I went home and topped things off--and really none of my friends are heavy drinkers I don.t want people to change their behavior to nice to me. yikes!!!!

I'm not sure what you mean - have you told people you've stopped drinking? If so, it's bound to get a reaction. Maybe just give people some time to get used to the idea.

I had a similar situation. It may be that it will take your friends time to accept your sobriety, and you might find it hard to adapt too. I didn't drink a lot with friends either (well most of them) and I felt like they wouldn't like me sober but I also found myself resenting my sobriety around them, so I had to take a break from socialising for a while.
