Calling all weekenders! 23 - 25
Weekends are not mountains to climb.
Weekends are not canyons to cross.
They are a day of the week ending in Y.
I happen to not drink on days ending in Y.

Weekend off to a good start, finally got home after 8 nights on the road last night. I've really got to get a new job! Interestingly I stayed in 2 hotels that had mini-bars in the room and didn't even look twice - thing is, it wasn't a major trigger as even during my drinking days I'd never have touched those expensive little bottles.
Had a conference call with 11 of my buddies last night, we did our Fantasy Football draft and that's always fun. There was a bit of alcohol chatter - a couple of guys talking about their new favorite micro-brews, etc, and one guy was drinking cognac and by the end of the night he was slurring and a lot of his messages on the chat board were misspelled. However, it was nice to see that alcohol was not a major topic.
I've been experiencing very vivid and intense dreams over the past 4 nights, and each morning I've woken up feeling like I've been asleep for years. Very strange.
Anyway, that's the hodge-podge that's in my head as we enter this sober weekend. Glad I can be a part of it, have a good one everybody!

F*ck that!!! I'm getting "Ripped" starting at 5 sharp! Whiskey shots, beers and maybe even pack a few bowls of weed!

Hey everyone,
I want to be in the weekend club, this will be my second weekend sober.
Unfortunately we have friends coming over tomorrow night, ( I know that sounds wrong), what I mean is I would of liked a bit more time under my belt before I was faced with a get together for food and drinks.
Anyway I have a plan, and more importantly I am going to stick to it, I will be stocked up with my fizzy water and I am just loving Ribena at the moment, full of vit C so an added bonus.
When or rather if the AV raises his ugly head I will be ready and he will get short sharp thrift from me.
I'm going to listen to my guests and engage with them rather than chuck poison down my throat, I am going to enjoy myself and have a wonderful time, and on Sunday morning I will wake with a lovely clear head.

Hi Everyone, I'm in too.
I am taking today off after an exhausting week at work. It was just one of those "all the sh!t hits the fan at once" type of weeks. I thought I was going to have to travel abroad earlier in the week with just 24 hours notice. This is a somewhat frequent occurrence in my job but this one was sort of completely out of the blue. So I raced home to pack, pick up all the supplies needed to do the assignment and then got the, "Oh, nevermind...maybe next week we'll send you" call. Total adrenaline crash.
In retrospect, it is a good thing because although I love travel more than just about anything in the world, I was just not ready to drop everything and run this week. The flip side of that meant nights in the office until 9PM though.
And, like BigS, I am also having some bizarre sleep patterns going on. Whack dreams and very deep sleep that I wake from somewhat disoriented and like I have been away for a long time. Who knows but I figure if I am getting disoriented in my own house, it's probably best that assignment to go to the Middle East didn't come through
Tonight is a minor league baseball game with some friends and then tomorrow is up in the air. Trying to decide whether to stay in DC or head up to Philly but I'll figure that out tomorrow.

I am in like Flynn! Sad that I missed the weekend thread last week. It was a really crazy, busy weekend for me. But still here and still sober, 47 days back. Like Zoe says it's a 3 day weekend over here. I'm self-employed and usually only take Sundays off but because it's a bank holiday weekend I'm going to take Sunday *and* Monday off. Imagine!
Congrats on picking up your 90 day chip tomorrow, ersatz!
