I mark personal events too, and that includes my quit date. It's different than counting days. I had this discussion a long time ago with the beloved TU. I celebrate my children's birthday ( yes plural children, singular birthday), but celebrating their birthday does not keep them alive. The same holds true for acknowledging my quit date (aka the day I changed my life). Acknowledging it is not what keeps me from drinking.

Besides, my yearly date is a thinly veiled excuse for splurging on more tattoos and shoes I don't need. What's not to love?

So congrats and ((((hugs, fresh))))
( oh no she didn't...lol)

I do the same Cleo. A bad day is always made better by beautiful shoes. At any given point I can look down and smile. A fashion high...

Congratulations Freshstart...sorry I'm late to the party!

Thanks for all the great advice you give out...over 3 months without smoking for me now! I'd pretty much despaired of ever quitting nicotine successfully. Who'd have thought!

I'm late to the party too, but just wanted to thank you for your help..reading your link and the gentle nudge you gave me, helped me cement in my mind my path to freedom. Now I feel more able to tackle my nicotine addiction in a way that patches and tablets were unable to help. Thankyou!!! Congrats on your personal event!!!
