When do you stop feeling tired?
Hi,
Been here before but fell off the wagon and had a summer full of wine. Determined now to quit alcohol again and what I realize is that during the first days of soberness I fee soooo tired. When does the energy return? When does the body start to go back to normal?

Google PAWS (post acute withdrawal symptoms/syndrome) this should give you some general ideas of what you can expect over the first year or two of recovery. Although every person is different, reading about the changes our bodies go through getting sober is helpful to me, hope it helps you too!
Hang in there Victoria, everyone's different. Try to eat well and exercise. I guess you'll return to normal once your body's adjusted to no alcohol as fuel. It makes all sorts of changes to be able to metabolise large doses of alcohol, and now it's doing the opposite.
Congratulations on your new start and all the best.

Well then yes, you are going to be tired. All the physical and mental fatigue is normal.
It takes a lot out of our bodies and minds to quit drinking. It does get better. Hang in there and take it one day at a time.
