Hi everyone. I hope this doesn't get too long winded. Right now I'm on day 3 of alcohol recovery. It sucks. I keep telling myself that it is a temporary thing, and I just need to slow down but deep down I know the truth. I need to quit for good. I am also a recovering drug addict. I used methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD etc. for years and that all ended with an extended stay in the hospital for a psychotic episode and near heart failure. I did well for about a year after until I started drinking. I started all this at 12 years old and it's come to now. Nearly 21 years of non-sobriety with a 1 year break. I have been clean of everything other than alcohol for the past 13 though. Now it's time to clear my mind. Wish me luck.

Hi Day 3 is a tough one - the good news is, it gets LOADS better after that. Hang in there, you're doing great!!

Thanks all. Yesterday was difficult but I got though it. I had a fairly vivid dream that i didn't and was pretty upset with myself. One day at a time.
