Midnight ramblings....
Just noticed that it's coming up to midnight Saturday, here in the UK.
The amount of times, I've told myself 'as long as I don't drink past midnight Saturday, I'll be fine for Monday morning'.... of course, I never was!
Sunday, the throbbing in the chest would start, then the acid reflux and then I'd be up and down all through sunday night, making hot water bottles to put on my stomach to try and stop the pain. Not sure if that pain was 'trapped wind' or just a seriously messed up stomach lining, but it sure hurt beyond belief. I would be unable to sleep and if I got to sleep, it would wake me.
I can honestly say, with that and every other withdrawal symptom, I am SO happy to be 10 days into recovery!

Congrats Zoe! Funny..as I happen upon your post I am coming up on midnight Saturday night on the westcoast of Canada. I too am getting ready to retire...sober and will wake refreshed for another sober day. Congratulations on your first 10 days of sobriety. You're awesome.
