3 weeks sober and feeling pretty good.

Well, I made it 3 weeks without alcohol or cigarettes! I have to say that looking at this as weeks instead of days is extremely encouraging for me! Not to mention waking up with a clear mind and no hangover every morning is a huge bonus. SR has been a huge part of my support system and has helped a great deal with getting through the issues that I have had. I still have not attended any meetings and don't have a sponsor but have not ruled either of those options out.
I also waned to say thanks to everyone here for the words of encouragement! There were a few times that I didn't think I would be able to reach my 3 week goal but with the encouragement and believing in myself I made it!

You're very brave to stop the fags* and the booze at the same time. Well done.

EDIT: I should clarify that 'fags' is slang for cigarettes in Australia & the UK, not a disrespectful term to the gay community. Have to watch the local slang sometimes haha, for it may not make sense to American or European members

That is awesome Ironman. You do have more strength than I do. I could never quit alcohol and cigarettes at the same time. Heck, I think I smoked more this weekend trying to sober than I did when I was drinking.

Kudos to you on 3 weeks! Especially for quitting both cigs and booze! I will be at 3 weeks on Thursday.

I, too, am smoking more cigs now that I quit drinking, but my goal is to quit cigs too. One thing at a time. One day at a time.
