Day 16
Day 16
Hi all -
Brand new to the forum. I'm 45, a school principal, married with two kids. Oh, I'm also an alcoholic! Doing pretty well thus far - 16 days into sobriety. My brother told me about this forum. He's going on 11 months.

I am an assistant principal, and I am determined not to go through another year feeling terrible. I think our jobs, and what we see every day, takes a toll on our emotions. Not making excuses, I'm just saying there are so many educators I know (teachers too) that use alcohol to cope. However, I look at my amazing husband who has the same job and he does just fine. Sometimes I get so frustrated that it seems his will power is so much stronger than mine. But he is my biggest fan and says he will continue to support me through this. I'm a lucky girl! Congrats on day 16 - I am on day 2 - start back to work tomorrow - SOBER! Hope you stick around - it's nice to have someone I can relate to here.

Welcome Bowder, hi jojo(Carolina girl). You both have stressful jobs!!!!!!!! My wife just left public schools w/ my complete blessings. My mom taught 30 plus years. But your job...u have to put up w/ discipline, parents, teachers, administration at the big house(yuck), everything. You have a demanding job with lots of responsibility. I have really benefited by coming to SR and have been on and posting like a mad dog for the past week. I'm on day 7 and loving it!!! But as always on guard. Oh Bowder I'm between u and the beach...small world.
