8 months sober today !!!!!
And I've never felt better or stronger in sobriety ! I've definitely overcome the difficulties that come with early sobriety. I've gotten thru it all and learned to live everyday life without a drink, whether that involves my daily priorities or doing many of the outgoing things that I used to do drunk. I'd like people to kno that all of the things that you believe to be impossible to do sober are very possible to do sober. I've grateful for what I have today and don't want to ruin it with one drink. To me that is not worth it and the great feeling of waking up every day without a hangover or regret. My results at the gym have gotten better, I'm more productive than ever, and I am more reliable than ever to help or be there for family members and friends. Most of all, SR has probably been the best support system for me during these 8 months due to my extremely busy schedule and inability to attend aa regularly. So I want to thank you all for reading my posts, helping me out, and providing me material to strengthen my recovery. Our recoveries will last a lifetime so I will continue to be there for you all and come in for support when I'm having bad days.
Very inspiring and motivating to read stuff like this! & Congratulations!
You mentioned the outgoing things you'd do drunk you could do now. Was that something you worked on or was it kind of natural? Did you find it difficult at first to be social without the drink?

Thank you. I've always been a pretty talkative person sober or drunk so I think that helped in social situations to still be able to have fun. However, I still enjoyed getting drunk, regardless, so it was still difficult. Definitely something I had to still work on because I was used to going out and drinking along with everyone else. I still don't recommend that it's done until at least a few months into sobriety as far as places where the primary activity is drinking (bars).
