Almost 2 years

I have been sober for almost 2 years now, and am back at college doing a Masters. Tough. I have a depressive illness as well that comes back to bite me now and again, which it did last week. I could do without this level of stress and hopelessness, I am not tempted to drink, but this does discourage me a lot. Regards to everyone.

It's great on difficult days is to look back and remember that I didn't drink. Many times in the beginning it's not an easy choice but it's a good feeling if we recall all the remember whens we did. BE WELL

Getting treatment for your depression?

I started graduate school after being sober for about three years. It was the best time of my life, which included doing a whole bunch of things I never did while I was drinking.

Eddie - That's really something to be proud of. We all understand how challenging it is to reach 2 yrs. I hope you'll begin to feel better about things.

Congrats on your sober time! My depression bites me at times too....especially when stressed and graduate school does do that....but it is sooooooooo worth it! I achieved mine while I was still actively drinking and I know I would have done better sober. I admire your goals! Don't get too bogged down with your academics that you forget to take care of yourself....
