Hi everyone,
I am one day sober. I have been thinking about this for a long time. The time is now. I quit 8 years ago when I was on chemo and stayed sober for 2 years because of health problems. Then I thought I could have just 1 or 2 glasses of wine. I guess I didn't want to admit back then that it was a problem.
But with other really crappy things happening in my life that turned into a bottle of wine after work over 5 years. When I realized I looked forward to the end of the work day so I could get into the wine, I knew I had a problem. I am home alone on vacation this week, so I made the decision. I feel pretty much OK this morning. The challenge will be returning to a really stressful job on Monday. I am telling myself, "you did it before, you can do it again".
