Damaged Circuits TV spot by PDA

Hello all -

Saw a spot on TV put out by Partnership for a Drug Free America that got my attention.

Google "Damaged Circuits" and you will see it on You Tube.

Let me know what you all think...

Interesting. Edgy. well done. I typically don't like some of these ads because I feel they use a lot of scare tactics...by the time they started this campaign my son was already using meth and the images terrified me. I'm still terrified...obviously with continued use it never ends well. I'd like to see them do a campaign on how it is possible to reclaim your life and something that offers encouragement. I know the target is younger kids....but what about the ones already using? JMO...take it for what it's worth.

Very much to the point in 31 seconds!

I wish every school had an in depth drug class, as succinct as this ad, somewhere around 8th grade.

Sadly, I think it needs to start earlier, like the 5th or 6th grade!

And many of the comments below it on You Tube mock it...I wonder if any of the governments PSA's about drug use work at all since the reaction seems to be one of condescension and mockery.

I have an article from the newspaper with a picture of my son giving a speech in the (full) gym of his elementary school (5th grade) about the Just Say No campaign. The article highlights portions of his anti-drug speech. Isn't it ironic.

That condescension and mockery has become the "humor" of today's society. It is rampant and meaningless.

That was a great ad. The transition happened so subtlety that it was hard to even see it occurring. That accurately depicts how addiction happens......so subtlety that the clues ARE there.....but unfortunately not until the talons of addiction have grabbed and hijacked a person.....can we really see them. Addiction IS a baffling and cunning disease.

Thanks for sharing!

gentle hugs
