Good News: I am on Day 5!!
Bad News: My AV is kicking and screaming for attention...
Today was a good work day. I am in sales and closed on a deal. Hence, me and my AV want to celebrate!!!
I am just going to take a deep breath and then go for a nice walk to the nearest cupcake store...

Congratulations on a great achievement. The first 3-4 days are always the hardest. When I get into a squirrely mood, I usually make time to do a cost-benefit analysis of my drinking or work on clarifying my goals and values.
Thanks JazzFish! I appreciate your cost-benefit analysis suggestion. Thing is, I already know what the cost is... I just wish I knew what the long-term benefit/outcome will be. Alcohol has always been such a big part of my life. Drink during good times, drink during bad times, drink during boring times, drink during exciting times... Now what???
Anna - much appreciate your support. I must remind myself to keep my inner AV at bay at all times. Wish I could simply lock it in a closet for the next couple of months... -

FourSeasons, I just posted this to the alcoholism forum: What are the long-term benefits of quitting drinking? There should be some insightful replies shortly.
