Reflection on my journey (To be continued...)

Dear SR Family, I had alone time today and found myself re-reading my posts from day one. My goodness what a ride! Since late 2011, I have ridden the roller coaster too long !!!! Addiction/Jail/Recovery/Jail/Recovery/Addiction/ To be continued...
I am amazed, enthralled and totally blessed in the SR family who have supported me in this long and painful and loving journey! My son (today) is doing well. He got his 30 day chip from Freedom Ranch on Thursday. We could not attend as it is one hour from our home to go, but he called yesterday and he is very hopeful for his future. I get to spend time with him in the wonderful natural setting he lives in. When he hits his 60 day mark, he can start getting 8 hour passes off the ranch. He is a HUGE fan of the City of Bones book series, and the first movie comes out in August. I am going to take him for a nice lunch and movie. We spend our visits talking and laughing. They have horseshoes and a mini golf course on site that provides for un and games. He dances to my daughter's IPOD and though they smoke like chimneys over there, he is really fitting in well with others in the program.
I encourage other Mom's who are in the middle of the chaos of addiction to continue to trust in our HP and to appreciate the opportunities of both rehab AND jail. Our loved ones all have a bottom. For TODAY, I am thankful to say that I have a loving relationship with my son. He is facing his addiction and he is SOBER (for today) and I am blessed to be part of his life.
Love everyone!

This is so wonderful to read. I have read so much, if not all, of your journey. I remember praying, being scared, anxious and in tears for you. (Codependent friends can be good sometimes, lol)

I am so happy to read your positive update. Thank you for sharing.

Hugs to you TT

Such a good update! I'm so glad that both you and JJ are doing well. It's one day at a time and I do understand how grateful you are today. Your son is sober.....today. And that is a blessing.

Enjoy getting to know your son again.......

gentle hugs

TT, your post just made my day, really it did. Any time one of our loved ones finds recovery, it just tickles my heart.

I am so happy for him, and for you and his family, and most of all I am grateful that his HP (and my son's too) can do for him what you and I cannot.

Enjoy your time together, let the happy days wash away the bad memories and replace them with hope and gratitude.

Hugs

TT, you were one of the first parents to welcome me to this site so I take a special interest in your posts. You have offered me much support and understanding. I also have prayed for you and cried for you (both tears of joy and sadness). I am so happy for you and JJ. I am hopeful for his future. I also know however it turns out you will embrace it. You will continue to learn through any challenges. Rooting for you and I'm so proud of JJ. Thinking of the hope and lessons he could provide to others in the future....it's amazing. Truely. Big smile for you today.
