New here; day 37
After 30 years of drinking, most of which was spent as a 2-3-4 or more night/week binge and blackout drinker, I finally surrendered a couple of months ago and started attending AA meetings (I'd tried them before and pronounced them Not For Me...well, guess what? They're exactly for me).
Right now I'm on the longest dry streak since I was pregnant with my daughter 8.5 years ago, and I'm really making an effort to work the program and avail myself of every resource I can to avoid taking that first drink. So, here I am, at what is still the beginning of this journey, trying to hold on to the humility that has eluded me for so long and to stay positive (thus my username).

Hello!
Hello Humble! You have found a wonderful place for support.
Congratulations on your 37 days of sobriety. I drank for around the same length of time you did. In the end, it was hell - no fun left in it at all - and still I clung to it. Finding SR was the best thing I could've done for myself. I hope you'll find it helps you stick to your path.
