try to stay sober this weekend with us 2nd 3rd & 4th

Well thought i'd kick off the weekend thread seeing as how there wasn't one .

All are welcome to post , the old hands can maybe give the newbies some experience , the newbies remind the old hands what the raw experience was like .
All those inbetween are welcome .

Share what a sober weekend is like , get some support and ideas .

Start your own thread if you need full SR support as sometimes cries for help can get overlooked if they are tucked away in other threads

I'm ringing the Freedom Bell for all the pain and suffering, it is possible to deal with it without drinking or drugging .

There will be up's, there will be down's, that's life ... I'm going to live it fully and soberly in freedom till my dieing day

Come on and join me , let's get through the weekend .

If you fall don't dispair , just get back up , suss out what you need to do and get it on

Bestwishes, m

Love that into M!

I am doing the work i need to do if you get my meaning. So that makes me have to step up my game and pay attention.

Leaving work early today to go for an early dinner a stroll in NYC. Hope to find a new place to eat. Seek out some small thing I never noticed before.

Getting a massage this weekend. Need to work some pain in the shoulder out.

Then hope to be lazy.

Cooking is always on my schedule. Not sure what yet but Sunday is going to be a good day for it.

Made half sour pickles last weekend with a salt brine over a vinegar brine. Came out very tasty. Next time a little less salt but they still have that half sour taste I love.

Wish you all well this weekend!

K

I'm in for a sober weekend! I'm back on day 5, if I get through the whole weekend I will have beaten my 7-8 day itch... and that is really, really motivating me. I've had 30 sober days in the last 40 and I'm happy about that
Weekends throw up lots of triggers for me so I will be keeping my focus sharp.
Happy weekend everyone!!!

Thanks for starting the thread, m. I'll have six months tomorrow! Some days have sailed on by, others were a little ratty tatty; but even when it wasn't pretty, I still didn't pick up.

Now, if I could fully get rid of the desire to stop smoking - day four clean from that! That'll take time..

Anyhoo, let's have a good weekend everyone!

i gave up smoking 5 years before the booze as it was bad for my health ... still drank 2 or 3 bottles of wine a day though as red wine was "good for you" ... oh how crazy was i ?

Congratulations on the six months upandup

Happy Friday (or Saturday) Everyone!
The dog is on week two of a long recuperation, so I will be staying close to home. I think I will borrow from an inspirational Weasel and give pickle making a go. Maybe paint a picture or two.

Hi everyone,

I am in - need to have sober weekend. I just can't seem to get this right. I know I am done with drinking yet I keep slipping. Need to build back up some days and feel strong again. Tired of self destructing. There is half of a bottle of vodka left from yesterday and I am dumping it. That will be a first. Let's all have a great and sober weekend

Thanks for starting this thread M!

I'm in day 4 for me. Cravings are becoming less and less frequent. Sleep is getting better. Happy to be here.

Oh, but red wine is good for you. A little is a little good, a lot is well, maybe not great but at least it wasn't moonshine! Bwahaha! Oh the rationalizations, how I don't miss thee!

Thanks for the props m, looking forward to the next six months
