does anyone know about seizures? a bit scared

I have been drinking heavily for awhile. Since I have been out of work I have drank every night for about a month, about two bottles of wine a night. Today is my first day sober and I do feel fine now. Can a seizure happen days weeks from now? Or does it happen the first day? I ask because my husband met someone when he was in rehab ,for alcohol, who had a seizure but can't remember his details.

Withdrawal from alcohol is not predictable and can be very dangerous.

Please talk to your dr about your concerns.

I have suffered withdrawl seizures. I can tell you that these things are serious and should not be taken lightly. Best to talk to your doctor, we can not give medical advice here it is against forum policy. A detox center would be a good place to call if you have questions as well.

Based my experience as a drinker

I drank way more than what you stated near the end and did not experience a seizure (wine was my alcohol of choice as well)...of course everyone is different...

Again...this is just based on my experience...as other posters have said, it is best to check with a doctor about a plan for quitting...

Good luck with your journey!
