At This Place and Time
Right here, right now, what enters my mind is that I am at the right place and this is the right time. A time for change...a time to be proactive. I think back 3.5 years ago, I was lost...trapped in a world of addiction. I never imagined myself sitting here today...living...breathing...doing things the "right" way.
Today, I care. I feel...I laugh. I am the person God created me to be. My chains are gone, yet I know how dangerous over confidence can be, for addiction never dies...it just lies asleep.
I do know this, that addict I was, she scares me. I am afraid of going backwards, so I try to stay in the moment. Here, at this particular place and time. Here, with you because you understand.
Thank You for allowing me to be a part of you, to share this space...to start brand new. With love.

Welcome chainfree, glad you are here with us! Congratulations on your 3.5 years sober and clean. You are absolutely right that we must, "stay" in the moment and be careful to never go "backwards". May we all brake free from the "chains" of our addiction.
Thank you for your post!

Welcome to the family chainfree! I think you're going to like us.
Congratulations on your sober/clean time. It's such a precious gift, and as you said - not something we can ever take for granted.
