173 days.....
I almost can't believe I've made it this far. I've had trouble with drinking for years. Quit for the longest time when the kids were young and thought I was safe....stupid. Of course I started back up.
Should have known better.....my birthmother is an alcoholic, my adoptive father was an alcoholic (till it killed him), and my adoptive mothers best friend (and her husband!) an alcoholic. I've always known I am an alcoholic.
Finally could see that I HAD to quit, tried a few times with no success, started reading about LifeRing and ordered the books, started reading on forums and started to take control of my life.
I think I'm doing ok but have lots to learn. Seems like there are so many things I don't know how to deal with. Having some pain issues now that began after I quit drinking and I've been so busy keeping busy that now I'm exhausted and hurting. But happy to not be drinking!
Looking forward to being a part of this forum, I have already learned a lot here just reading!
